Lady Pirates hoops fall to Clay
Matanzas trailed Clay at halftime, 19-18, but a strong second half sunk the Lady Pirates on Tuesday night, losing the game, 44-36.
Natalia Mejia scored 10 points to lead Matanzas. Margaret Calhoun scored nine — all on 3-pointers.
Trailing by just two points after three quarters, the Lady Pirates (3-4) were outscored 13-7 in the fourth quarter.

Walker scores 25, FPC beats Ridgeview
Armani Walker continued her dominance on Tuesday night, leading the Lady Bulldogs to a 64-36 win over Ridgeview, in Jacksonville.
Walker tallied a game-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds, dishing out seven assists and snagging six steals. She also had a blocked shot.
FPC (6-1) actually trailed 11-10 after the first quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs outscored Ridgeview, 23-3, in the second quarter. From there, FPC cruised to the win.

Hopkins, Gardner suffer injuries, Bulldogs lose to New Smyrna Beach
Tyler Hopkins (knee) and Willie Gardner (ankle) were on the bench with injuries Tuesday night as the Flagler Palm Coast boys basketball team lost to New Smyrna Beach, 65-61.
FPC (4-3) led at halftime, 32-30, but played catch up most of the second half.
Deshawn Barbero led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds. Dustin Bowens tallied a double-double with 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
According to Assistant Coach Blake VandeBunte, Hopkins is expected to miss at least a month. Gardner, who has missed two games, was slated to try and play Friday at Atlantic.
The Bulldogs host Spruce Creek 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10.

Signups now open for Flagler Senior Softball
Do you love softball? Are you over the age of 55?
Flagler Senior Softball, pen to all seniors 55 and over, is now open.
Cost is $30 and includes a shirt and hat. There are two divisions: 55 and up and 65 and up.
The season starts Jan. 14, and all games are played at the Flagler County Fairgrounds, off County Road 13, in Bunnell.

Beaches Adult Soccer League now offers three 7-on-7 divisions
The Beaches Adult Soccer League, a nonprofit organization based out of Jacksonville, continues to expand and now offers three 7-on-7 divisions in Flagler County.
For $70, players get a guaranteed eight to 10 games with a certified referee with all games played on Flagler fields.
Men’s over 25 plays on Tuesday nights, Men’s 18 and up plays on Thursday nights, and coed is played on Sunday afternoons.
