Two felons recently arrested on various narcotics charges have “donated” two cars to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the vehicles — a 2003 50th anniversary edition Corvette — is being auctioned, and the other, a 2019 Nissan Maxima, is now part of the FCSO's fleet.

“Not only do we close down poison peddler businesses, but we will also seize their vehicles,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We are taking a bite out of criminal profits, and as a result, we are now the proud owners of two vehicles, one which will go to our fleet, and the other which will be auctioned off."

The Corvette was seized in March when its driver was found to have trafficking amounts of fentanyl. The car is being auctioned for the next 13 days on GovDeals.com

Proceeds from the sale will benefit public safety initiatives and community engagement in Flagler County.

Deputies had arrested its owner, 42-year-old Christopher McDaniel, after a concerned citizen’s call about him sleeping in a vehicle led to the seizure of cash and narcotics.

When paramedics and deputies arrived to the scene, McDaniel fled the area and deputies saw him run a stop sign, leading to a traffic stop.

A search of the vehicle found trafficking amounts of fentanyl and $2,691 cash in the Corvette.

Deputies seized the car as well as the drugs and cash, and arrested McDaniel for trafficking fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer (without violence).

The 2019 Nissan Maxima was also seized from a criminal who was caught with trafficking amounts of fentanyl.

Its former owner was 44-year-old Andre Harvey, arrested in April behind a W-Section home following a countywide manhunt after he broke into his estranged wife's home, threatened her and then fled law enforcement.

Harvey was arrested for nine felony charges, including burglary, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, trafficking fentanyl, grand theft of a firearm, and fleeing and eluding deputies.

During a search of his vehicle, deputies recovered cash, narcotics and fentanyl, and seized the vehicle.

"Here’s my message to drug dealers: If you don’t want to be on the Sheriff’s High Interest Target list, then I suggest you get the h--- out of Flagler County, because we are coming for you next — your profits and your vehicles," Staly said. "Hope you enjoy walking after you are released from the Green Roof Inn!”
