In 2009, Jaci Beckett, daughter of Ed and Lisa Beckett, met Ryan Centofanti while working in children’s activities at Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, at Walt Disney World. For her, the job was all about fun; she never dreamed that in between poolside games and princess play she would meet her Prince Charming.
The couple, who now reside in Palm Coast, left for a family cruise Dec. 16. At dinner on the first night of the cruise, Centofanti dropped to one knee and asked those four words every girl dreams of.
“Asking her to marry me was almost as nerve-wracking as asking her dad if I could ask her to marry me,” Centofanti said.
Of course, she said yes. They are planning to marry in the spring of 2012.
Exactly two weeks later, Beckett’s friend of 14 years, Mark Russell, son of John and Donna Russell, masterminded a trail of rose petals and a puzzle made of hidden notes for his girlfriend of two-and-a-half years, Whitney Bynum. At the end, the puzzle read, “Will you marry me?”
The two lovebirds met through a mutual friend while attending the University of Central Florida, and Bynum is excited to use her degree in event management as they begin to plan their wedding.
They have not set a date yet, but their vision is something unconventional-rock-star-chic.
