Senior Games are set to begin

The public is invited to attend and cheer on the athletes at a week's worth of competitions at various locations in Palm Coast, Flagler Beach and Bunnell. Admission for spectators is free.

Men and women ages 50 and up will be competing in several sports in the Senior Games, which are presented by Florida Hospital Care Advantage. This Local Games event is sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation and is a qualifier for the Florida Senior Games State Championships. The Palm Coast & the Flagler Beaches Senior Games events are:

5K Run: 7:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE. The route will be along the trails surrounding Linear Park.

Ballroom Dance: noon Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Flagler Auditorium, 5500 E. Highway 100, Palm Coast.


Golf Croquet: Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 15-16, 9 a.m. - James F. Holland Memorial Park, 18 Florida Park Drive, Palm Coast.

Tennis: 9 a.m. Monday through Thursday Sept. 15-18, at the Palm Coast Tennis Center, 1290 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast.

Horseshoes: 7 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 17, at the Old Dixie Community Park, 1250 S. Dixie Hwy., Bunnell. Registration for this event will remain open through game day; see www.palmcoastgov.com/seniorgames.

Pickle Ball: 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday Sept. 18-19, at Belle Terre Park, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast.

Golf: 9 a.m. Friday Sept. 19, at the Palm Harbor Golf Club, 20 Palm Harbor Drive, Palm Coast.

NOTE: These games have been canceled, due to low registration: basketball, table tennis, powerlifting, and volleyball.
