Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies seized almost 50 grams of cocaine and arrested three men April 17 after searching a building for drug activity, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

“The approximate street value of the cocaine seized today is $2500,” Sheriff James L. Manfre said in the news release. “This investigation will continue and additional arrests will be made.”

Deputies started their search of a building in the 400 block of South Church Street in Bunnell at about 2:30 p.m. after an investigation “revealed that an open-air drug activity was occurring on the property,” according to the news release.

When they arrived at the building with the search warrant, a man sitting in the driver’s seat of a Dodge Ram threw a plastic cup out the back window. Deputies found the cup — which held two bags of a “white rock” substance that tested positive for cocaine — and identified the driver as Mark Anthony, 37.

They found 49 grams of cocaine in the truck, along with plastic baggies and a digital scale covered in white powder.

Inside the property, they found Mitchell Griffin, 40, who “stated he had a ‘crack pipe’ in his pocket which he uses for smoking crack/cocaine,” according to the release.

They also spoke to another man on the property — 39-year-old Gregory Thomas — and found five grams of marijuana when they searched his Kia.

Deputies arrested all three men, charging Anthony with trafficking cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, Griffin with possession of drug paraphernalia and Thomas with possession of cannabis under 20 grams.
