Crime is down 52% in Flagler County since Staly took top post.
Approximately 80% of a sampling of 2,400 Palm Coast respondents who took part in Palm Coast's 2021 National Community Survey gave positive marks for police services, crime prevention and emergency preparedness. Ninety-four percent of respondents stated they feel very or somewhat safe in their neighborhoods during the day; nine in 10 stated they feel very or somewhat safe in the downtown and commercial areas of Palm Coast.
When asked specifically about sheriff/policing services in the city, 84% of respondents said those services are good or excellent. Eighty-two percent additionally rated crime prevention in the city either good or excellent. Eighty-one percent say they feel very or somewhat safe when it comes to worries about property crime; 84% feel the same in regard to violent crime.
“The citizens have spoken in this survey. I couldn’t be prouder of these numbers and the work the men and women of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is doing every day to make it all possible,” Sheriff Rick Staly said.
He added that the Flagler County Sheriff's Office is continuing to implement prevention and education programs.
