Defensive Scheme: Multiple D

Top returners:

WR/DB Jimmie Robinson, Sr.

WR/DB Marcel Williams, Sr.

OL Jake Dempsey, Sr.

DE Matthew Gartner, Sr.

Spring game:

May 23

at Bartram Trail, 7:30 p.m.

Campana’s take:

On spring football practices:

“We’re just trying to see who can play varsity, and who’s going to be on the JV team for next year; that’s the main thing, as well as we’re trying to fine-tune things we do on offense, defense and special teams.”

On returning almost the entire team:

“There’s nothing like experience in athletics. There is so much that you can be better at, based on what your kids know. We have kids that have been four-year starters for us, and that is not only a good thing as far as their experience on the football field, but as far as team leadership that makes up so much better.”

Notes:

--FPC will head into the season with (rising) junior Dalton Thomas returning for his third season at quarterback. Thomas was the primary starter in 2013 after winning the job early in the season. He’ll have competition from McKenzie Wagner (a rising sophomore) and Deandre Armstrong for the starting job.

--The Bulldogs will be playing with the exact same schedule they used last season as part of a two-year, "home and home" contract set up with the FHSAA. The only difference is a flip in game venues. Mark your calendars for Week 1, when the Bulldogs open at Matanzas.

--Campana will have a loaded roster, with returning starters at almost every position.
