Circuit Judge David Walsh heard a number of felony pretrial cases Oct. 6, continuing many — including five cases involving sex crimes and one animal cruelty case involving the shooting of a puppy — to future hearings, many on Nov. 3.

Among the defendants whose pretrials were heard Oct. 6 were: Kevin McClenithan, charged in the May 1, 2014 shooting death of his neighbor's Labrador puppy; Brandon Moon, charged with the rape of a female relative when Moon was 19 and the girl was 13 or 14; William Kitts, charged with raping an underage girl after she passed out at a house party; Waldemar Rivera, charged with raping a 13-year-old girl who was under his care; John Joseph Schenone, charged with molesting his girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter; and Andrew S. Wilson, charged with molesting a girl when she was between the ages of 9 and 12. Each of those cases was continued to a later date.
