Information provided by news release from the Friends of the Library

The Flagler County Public Library annual poetry readings will be presented by Muriel Levy and Friends at 1 p.m., Friday, April 1 in the Doug Cisney Room at the library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway.

Poetry by or about U.S. Presidents from George Washington to Barack Obama will be read by local guest speakers.

Washington wrote love poems while Thomas Jefferson wrote “A death-bed Adieu” for his daughter before he died. Do you know which president is the only one to publish a book of poetry? (He’s from Georgia)

More than 40 readers will entertain and educate during the event. Light refreshments will be served.
