A 70-year-old Flagler Beach man was arrested on charges of grand theft of a firearm and aggravated assault with the deadly weapon Oct. 23 after he allegedly pointed a stolen gun at two other men and threatened to kill them.
The victims were both 20. One of them, a resident of the same apartment unit as suspect Joseph Peter Krusko, told police officers that Krusko had been hostile and threatening to him earlier in the day, so the victim had left the apartment and returned later with a friend as a witness. When the two young men arrived back at the apartment, Krusko threatened to kill them, then went into another room and emerged pointing a revolver at them and saying, "I will f---ing kill you, you want to f--- with me?" They ran out of the apartment and called police.
When Flagler Beach police officers arrived and asked Krusko where the gun was, he directed them to one in his dresser, but that firearm didn't match the description that the victims had given. Police searched the area and found another gun, a Taurus .38, which did. When they ran its serial number, they discovered that it had been reported stolen. They arrested Krusko.
