Updated 1:28 p.m. July 18.

While he might have felt he was protecting himself, the man who fired three shots at a car driven by "Pokemon Go" hunters on July 16 could be facing charges.

In the case, a Primrose Lane resident, now identified as Michael Jason Pagliro, 39, shot at a car in front of his house, after he said the car “tried to run him over.” As it turned out, the Palm Coast teens were playing "Pokemon Go." Nothing has been revealed yet about whether the car accelerated toward Pagliro.

The incident report from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office identifies one offense committed: "discharging a firearm in public." A spokesman also stated via email: "Charges are expected as the investigation continues." There is no word yet on the extent of the charges.

Pagliro completed a voluntary written statement. His gun, a Bersa Thunder .380 semi-automatic pistol, was seized as evidence.

Note: This story originally stated that the charge was "discharging a firearm in public," but the Sheriff's Office has not yet specified what charge is being considered.
