The next time there is a heartstopping performance at the Flagler Auditorium, the staff there will be prepared.

Flagler County Fire Rescue Chief Don Petito presented an automatic external defibrillator last week to the staff at Flagler Auditorium. The auditorium was one of 52 public buildings around the county to receive a device thanks to a grant from the American Heart Association.

Along with providing the AED, Flagler County also provides CPR training and instruction on operating the AEDs.

“The devices are easy to use,” Petito said. “And they are proven to save lives.”
