A 14-year-old girl named Faith Shaw, who lives in North Carolina, is struggling to overcome a lifetime battle with Cystic Fibrosis. She was diagnosed on Christmas Eve, at 7-months-old. She has experienced a constant stream of doctors, hospital visits and medication throughout her life. In 2014, she became dangerously ill as a result of the disorder, and was hospital bound for a month during the holidays. She later found out her lung function was at only 32-43%.

“When you live with cystic fibrosis, some days it is all you can do to just breathe,” said Faith.
The doctors have concluded that Faith will be in need of a double lung transplant within the year, 2016. In order to cover the costly hospital bills from the procedure, her uncle David Brooks, resident of Palm Coast, has decided to use a fun smartphone game to their advantage.
The game is called Piano Tiles 2, and Brooks was listed within the top 100-best-player list in the world for the original version of the game.
“Piano Tiles was nominated as the best game of 2015, and has become a huge sensation with millions of players,” said David Brooks. “Unlike most people who play Piano Tiles 2, I experienced a crippling accident, so I am bound to using only one hand. This drawback makes the game significantly more challenging.”
Brooks plans to stream a live video of himself playing the game on the internet on May 14, one day before Faith’s 15th-birthday, to raise funds for Faiths treatments. Half of the money raised will go toward Faith, while the other half will be donated to the
Cystic Fibrosis foundation, to continue research towards finding a cure.
Brooks goal is to play the game nonstop until he reaches 100,000 points, a feat that could take almost seven hours.
“I plan to take as little bathroom breaks as possible and eat during the announcing of the next song,” said Brooks. “
Faith will accompany Brooks during a portion of the Piano Tiles marathon, and play the game right along with him.
