The old Perkins building off Palm Coast Parkway will be demolished soon, according to a permit filed with the city.

But what could be coming?

Chick-fil-A has been linked to the site as a possibility, but city officials said Friday that no formal site plans have been submitted.

“Chick-fil-A has made preliminary inquiries about the property, but nothing formal has been submitted yet,” Cindi Lane, communications and marketing director for the city, said in a Jan. 10 email.

Lane said Friday that’s still the case.

City Manager Jim Landon said that he doesn’t expect the location to sit empty long, though.

“That’s one of the strongest retail corners in the community,” Landon said. “It’s prime location. It’s not going to stay vacant long.”

Perkins closed in May 2013.
