Pedestrian killed, another injured after getting hit by pickup truck in Bunnell

Fifty-year-old John Cicalo died at the scene, while 39-year-old Julie Kerns was taken to the hospital.

A pedestrian was killed and another was injured in Flagler County after being hit by a pickup truck, according to a report by Florida Highway Patrol.

Fifty-year-old John Cicalo and 39-year-old Julie Kerns, both of Bunnell, were walking on the right shoulder of Mahogany Boulevard. A 2016 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 58-year-old Bunnell resident Richard Schultz, struck the pedestrians while traveling west on Mahogany Boulevard, near the intersection of Forest Park Street, at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Cicalo died at the scene, and Kerns was taken to AdventHealth with series injuries.
