An 84-year-old Palm Coast woman was killed and two other people received minor injuries in a T-bone crash at Old Kings Road and Utility Drive at about 5:06 p.m. April 25, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol. The 84-year-old victim's name has not yet been released by FHP, pending notification of next of kin.

The 84-year-old woman was driving north on Old Kings Road in a 2013 Nissan Altima, according to the FHP. In the passenger seat was 84-year-old Palm Coast resident Louis Jones.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Jessica Shank, also a Palm Coast resident, was at the wheel of a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox heading west on Utility Drive toward Old Kings Road. There were no passengers in her car.

Shank pulled out onto Old Kings Road, making a left to go south, in front of the 84-year-old woman's northbound Altima, according to the FHP news release.

The Altima struck the driver's side of the Equinox and then spun, coming to rest facing southwest and in both the northbound and southbound lanes of Old Kings Road. The Equinox came to rest partly in the southbound lane and partly in the shoulder, facing northwest.

The 84-year-old woman was taken to Halifax Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Louis Jones was taken to Halifax Hospital with minor injuries, and Shank was transported to Ormond Memorial Medical Center with minor injuries.
