Palm Coast resident Thomas Dolan was killed May 10 in a motorcycle crash on U.S. 1, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

Dolan, 59, was riding his 2015 Harley Davidson north in the inside lane of U.S. 1 at about 4 p.m. when a 2008 Kia Rondo driven by Ormond Beach resident Peggy Puleo, 63, pulled out of the White Eagle Lounge parking lot across the northbound lanes to turn into the median, "failing to yield" to Dolan, according to the news release.

The front of Dolan's Harley Davidson struck the back of the Kia, and Dolan was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene of the crash, according to the news release. He had been wearing a helmet.

The crash remained under investigation when FHP sent out its initial news release.
