A Palm Coast man has been convicted on four counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

A  Flagler County jury on Oct. 29 found Devian Toler, now 29, guilty of two counts of aggravated child abuse, one count of child abuse and one count of neglect of a child causing great bodily harm.

Toler had beaten his 20-month-old son so severely that he gave the child a skull fracture, burned the child with a washcloth dipped in boiling water, neglected to get medical treatment for the child’s burns, and beaten the child with a tree branch, leaving scars.

He told investigators he’d beaten the 20-month-old child to discipline him.

Toler will be sentenced on Jan. 7, 2022, by Circuit Judge Terence Perkins.
