A Palm Coast man allegedly threatened to kill his mother, according to a charging affidavit released by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, May 30, deputies responded to Pickston Lane in reference to a domestic disturbance, where they met Nelicia Mangal-Singh, 53, upon arrival. Mangal-Singh told deputies that when she arrived home, her son, 32-year-old Richard Walter Flefil, started yelling at her and charged at her.

Mangal-Singh said she had not been staying at her residence because of her son’s erratic behavior. She told deputies she returned to her home on Wednesday to pick Flefil up for a doctor’s appointment.

When Mangal-Singh walked into the home, she noticed that things had been thrown around the house and that there was a big hole in the door of the master bedroom. Mangal-Singh stated that Flefil came out of his bedroom yelling at her and charging toward her. She said that Flefil told her that “he had something for her, and he was going to finish what dad should of finished a long time ago,” according to the affidavit.

Mangal-Singh then elaborated to deputies that Flefil’s father tried to kill her with “unknown means” and that was what he was referring to.

Flefil was barricaded in his room upon the arrival of law enforcement. Deputies eventually resorted to using a breaching ram to get into the room and used a Taser on Flefil after he refused to leave.

Flefil was taken to the Flagler County Inmate Facility and charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest without violence.
