The 57th Halifax Art Festival’s Branding Committee recently announced local artist Ray Brilli as its featured artist for 2019.   Brilli’s oil painting “Minding My Own” will appear on all festival advertising as well as on the festival’s official T-shirt. This art work was selected from all images submitted to the Halifax Art Festival held on Beach Street, Nov. 2-3.

Brilli’s work, at well-known New York City agencies, afforded him the opportunity to connect with such well-known artists as Leroy Neiman and Peter Max. These artists affected his work as a graphic artist as well as contributed to his later work.  Brilli developed a spontaneous, impressionistic style of luminous light, color and shadows.

“The oil and acrylic medium offers me the truest interpretation of my palette with a vibrancy of color," he said.

Brilli lives in Palm Coast but travels frequently to his parents' birthplace of Venice, Italy, for inspiration. When in the states, he enjoys painting images of St. Augustine.

"St. Augustine inspires me with a new found excitement," he said. "There is always a new scene around the corner waiting to be painted.”

Brilli’s work can be found in homes and galleries around the world. Brilli will be at the 57th-annual Halifax Art Festival, Nov. 2-3, 2019, on Daytona’s Beach Street at Booth 229.
