Ormond Beach woman, 22, killed in head-on crash

A 22-year-old Ormond Beach woman was killed early Thursday morning in a two-car crash in Palm Coast, trooper say.

Tricia James was traveling southbound on Pine Lakes Parkway, just north of Woodbury Drive, around 1:02 a.m. Thursday in a Chevrolet Malibu.

James Rumph, 18, of Palm Coast, was traveling northbound on Pine Lakes in a Dodge Durango.

James crossed the center line and traveled into Rumph’s path. The left front of James’ car struck the left from of Rumph’s vehicle.

James sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Rumph was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler with serious injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, the report states.

An alcohol test is pending on James, according to the report. No alcohol was found in Rumph’s system.

No charges were filed.
