Dear Editor:

There has been some criticism in the press concerning the flag-waving support for former President Trump in Flagler.

In Flagler County, there are eight or more conservative organizations that support former President Trump: the Republican Executive Committee, the Trump Club, Flagler County Grand Order of Pachyderms, Flagler County Teenage Republicans, Flagler Liberty Coalition, Republican Liberty Caucus, Adorable Deplorables, to name a few. All support former President Trump.

In order to witness firsthand the written criticisms of Flagler County Republicans, I, as the elected Flagler County state committeewoman, attended last week's flag wave at Flagler Beach. There, I found American flags and a few Trump 2024 flags. Most of the faces were familiar; however, two were not.

I learned from the conversation from the ones I did not recognize that they were not Flagler County residents. They are the ones who are flying the flags with foul language and thought it to be their first amendment right to do so. After explaining to these out-of-towners that you will not win hearts and minds with foul language, I and others were not able to convince them.

President Donald J. Trump has supporters of all political persuasions. It wasn’t clear to us which party they were from.

On behalf of the conservative Republicans of Flagler County, I offer my sincerest apology to those who may have witnessed the inappropriate behavior of those individuals. This is not representative of the majority of Flagler County Republicans.

Flagler Republicans believe that our rights were given to us by God. Our priorities are God, family and country, and we pray that those individuals and those with that mindset do not return in the future. We love America believe in the Constitution. God Bless America.
