Odesnik wins USTA Futures tourney

Wayne Odesnik made it through the qualifying rounds to capture the USTA Palm Coast Men's Futures Championship.

Wayne Odesnik defeated Nicola Ghedin in two straight sets in the finals Sunday, Feb. 6.

American player Wayne Odesnik endured two weeks of tennis to claim the USTA Palm Coast Men’s Futures Championship, beating Nicola Ghedin, of Italy, Sunday, Feb. 6, on two straight sets.

Odesnik, who came through the qualifying rounds, dropped the first game of the first set in the finals, but went on to dominate the rest of the match.

Odesnik has been ranked as high as No. 77 on the ATP World Tour. He’s coming off suspension and is hoping to get back to the level of play he was at nearly two years ago.
