The Palm Coast Observer isn't going anywhere. The newspaper, which has been open since February 2010, remains at its current location, 1 Florida Park Drive N., Suite 103. But the plaza now has a beautiful new sign.
What was formerly known as the Sunrise Plaza is now the Observer Plaza. It's located just north of the Shagri-La Apartments, on the east side of Island Walk. Stop by and see us!
New stage: Palm Coast Arts Foundation begins construction
The Palm Coast Arts Foundation will begin construction of their 4,500-square-foot outdoor stage in Town Center this month. The stage will accommodate performances of all types including orchestras, symphonies, music of all genres, dance, theater and special exhibitions.
The stage is part of the foundation’s long-term plan in developing their Central Avenue site in Town Center into a cultural arts complex. Phase I was completed in time for May’s Picnic and Pops performance where over 1,200 gathered to hear the Jacksonville Symphony perform. Phase II is the construction of the stage; and Phase III will be a campaign for a roof system.
Hobby Lobby officially open for business
Hobby Lobby received its certificate of occupancy and is officially open for business. It’s located in Island Walk, inhabiting the site of the old Publix, at 250 Palm Coast Parkway NE, Suite 1100.
Holland Park progress: 78%
According to the city of Palm Coast’s Week in Review report, concrete has been placed for the shuffleboard and basketball courts at Holland Park. Paving is also 90% completely on the roadway and 95% done on the parking lot.
Other projects underway include Dollar General on Old Kings Road North, which is 75% complete. The addition at Christ the King Church is 95% complete.
Chamber hires events and marketing director
Tiffany Edwards has been re-hired by the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, as director of events and marketing.
Prior to joining the chamber, Edwards was events coordinator for the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. She is a graduate of Spruce Creek High School and the University of Central Florida.
