An approximately 16-acre plot of land in Flagler Beach, about a third of a mile north of State Road 100 and just west of Roberts Road, will be transformed into eight three-story apartment buildings, with a total of 240 units.

The Flagler Beach City Commission voted unanimously on Oct. 28 to approve a final site plan by the property’s developer, Preserve at Flagler Beach LLC.

The development have a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom options, according to city records. It will also have a clubhouse, pool, pet grooming station and bike rental and repair station.

There are also plans for a weekend shuttle between the development and the beach, the developers’ representatives said at the meeting.

There will be two entrances from Roberts Road, and 62% of the property will be left as open space for recreation. The development will be just north of the Publix Super Market at Beach Village.

There’s not currently a water line in the area, but the city of Flagler Beach expects to buy water from the city of Palm Coast and then run a water line to the new development, City Manager William Whitson said.

The developer plans to file permits by the end of November and close on a construction loan in January or February of 2022. The work is expected to take approximately 14 months.
