Information provided in a news release form WMFE

In honor of National Poetry Month, 90.7, WMFE, is paying tribute to the least poetic definition of where you live – the ZIP code. Using the five numbers of your ZIP code (four if you have a zero), describe your home town.

Poems can be for ZIP codes in Flagler County, or where you hail from. Have you moved from Virginia to Palm Coast? Write two! One for each.

An example provided by the station:

32789
3 Brick-paved streets
2 welcome you.
7 The Avenue buzzes with conversation, wine, dogs.
8 In Central Park, vivid roses bloom in abundance,
9 embracing Winter Park’s feathered icon atop a bubbling fountain.

Submissions of the five-line poems, one for each number can be sent to www.wmfe.org/zipcode. The deadline for submission is April 30. The winning poems will be read on air on May 14.
