A motorcycle crash on State Road 11 killed a motorcyclist and injured his passenger late the night of June 1.

The motorcyclist — whose name has not yet been released by the Florida Highway Patrol, pending notification of kin — was on a 2001 Suzuki GSX13 heading south on S.R. 11 just south of County Road 135 South at about 11 p.m., according to an FHP news release.

The motorcyclist lost control in a curve, and the motorcyclist and a passenger, 32-year-old Titusville resident Leslie Esteves Ramos, were both thrown from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash, and Ramos was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center in critical condition with "very serious injuries," according to the news release.
