Though Travis Thomas’ role as a student services manager at Flagler Technical Institute isn’t teaching in a traditional sense, it allows him to go into the community and educate people about the resources through FTI.

“I look at every student as an individual, with their own unique needs and goals,” Thomas said. “I developed a motto several years ago of helping ‘Every Student, Every Day, Every Time’ and keeping their ultimate goals at the forefront of every conversation. Adult students often have more going on in their lives that may cause disruptions and/or discouragements in their education, and the key is to keep them focused on what success will look like for them.”

In addition to working at FTI, Thomas also loves to sing. He owns an entertainment business where karaoke is a main element.

“For me, it is one of the best stress relievers in the world, and a way to help people feel good in a different, unique way,” he said.
