The Matanzas Pirates took their first lead of the season on Friday the 13th, and they never looked back, giving Jeff Nettles his first win as the head coach of the team, in a 55-16 blowout of Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville).

Jeremiah Wilson completed four passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns — all to Marcaus Cooper. Wilson also ran for 72 yards on seven carries. Rahim Booker had 80 yards on eight carries, plus a 53-yard kickoff return.

The Woody’s Bar-B-Q Player of the Game, as chosen by WNZF Radio, which broadcast the game, was Stefan Tucker, who scored three times on 10 carries and had a total of 134 yards.
