The Matanzas Pirates honored nine seniors Wednesday, April 13, at Matanzas High School. The seniors were introduced before the team’s home game against St. Joseph Academy.

The Pirates team features nine seniors: Nick Colaluca, Sean Dougherty, Felix Garcia, Dylan Rivard, Daylan Holloman, Blake Neal, Paul Ricci, Vincent Davis and Brandon Rufrano.

Though the Pirates lost the game 11-6, Rufrano went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBIs on senior night.

This was the first crop of seniors for head coach Don Apperson.

The Pirates, the No. 8 seed, will play 6 p.m. Saturday, April 23, against No. 9-seeded St. Augustine, at Matanzas High School, in the first round of the District 5-4A tournament.
