A man was seriously injured after falling off his motorcycle along the Palm Coast Parkway on the night of Sunday, Aug. 20, according to a report released by Florida Highway Patrol.

At about 8:50 p.m., David Shute, a 47-year-old resident of Palm Coast, was making a right turn from Old Kings Road onto the Palm Coast Parkway when, for an unknown reason, he laid down his 2015 Harley-Davidson on his left side, causing Shute to slide along the pavement, according to the report.

Shute was wearing a helmet, and it is unknown if he had alcohol in his system at the time of the incident.

He was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center with critical injuries.
