Deputies charged Brian Scott O'Dell with five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, according to a news release by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. These charges came after the FCSO received reports of suspicious activity occuring at O'Dell's residence between O'Dell and a 16-year-old.

Deputies conducted a followup at the juvenile's residence on Oct. 5. Deputies received permission to review the juvenile's cell phone, where they found several text messages between O'Dell and the juvenile that were sexual in nature

Further investigation confirmed sexual activity between O'Dell and the juvenile.

O'Dell was arrested and taken to the Flagler County jail with no bond.

“This is a great example of if you ‘see something, say something’,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a release. “If something seems suspicious or just doesn’t look right to you it probably isn’t and you should say something."
