PALM COAST — Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 3:40 p.m. Thursday, April 21, to a scene on Interstate-95 near the Matanzas Parkway overpass, where road workers found a man who had been cut several times with a knife.

According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies said the man suffered several lacerations, but no puncture wounds.

The victim told deputies he was traveling with companions to Orlando. He said he was sleeping and awoke to being cut. His assailants then threw him out of the vehicle near the overpass, he told deputies.

The man was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A Sheriff’s Office  detective is interviewing the victim.
