Man, 82, killed in motorcycle crash on I-95

The motorcycle crashed after a tire separated from the vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An 82-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 the morning of April 12, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man, a resident of Green Cove Springs, was riding south in the right lane near mile marker 305, north of the Flagler County/St. Johns County line, when a tire separated from his vehicle, causing him to crash into the rear right side of an SUV in the left lane.

The motorcycle then hit a guardrail. The motorcyclist died at the scene, according to the news release.
