Lorraine G. Vickery

Lorraine G. Vickery 67, Loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all passed peacefully on January 18, 2021 surrounded by family. 

Lorraine was born in Long Island, New York. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Jo Colton (Mercer), her father Walter Vincent Colton and her brother Lawrence Scott Colton (missing since 1979) she graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 1999.

In 1991, she married the love of her life, Michael Van Vickery and resided in Flagler Beach, Florida. She founded Samaritan Ministries in 2002 and retired from it in 2019. Lorraine found purpose in serving others and making a difference. After moving to Savannah, she was active in animal rescue serving the local community. Lorraine and Van attended First Baptist Church of the Island with her daughter and family.

In addition to her husband, Lorraine leaves behind her daughter Kasey Suddath of Savannah, Son in Law Kyle Suddath and granddaughter Kayden Suddath, her mother in law Dorothy Vickery of Chattahoochee Florida, her two brothers in law Vince Vickery (Susan), Todd Vickery (Anita) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of the Island, announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation in Lorraine’s memory to Samaritan Ministries of Flagler County Florida or the Humane Society of Savannah.
