We're all set up at East Florida State College, in Melbourne, for the Class 3A semifinals match between Matanzas (24-2-2) and Merritt Island (16-2-3).
The Lady Pirates are led by a potent offensive attack, led by Miracle Porter (68 goals) and Karen Rodriguez (21 goals). Sophomore keeper Bella Benvenuto has 20 shutouts and a 0.40 goals against average.
Matanzas has scored 161 goals this season and has given up 12.
Merritt Island has tallied 46 goals and allowed just seven.
In three playoff games, Matanzas has outscored opponents 16-0. Merritt Island has outscored its opponents 7-0.
We're about 20 minutes away from kickoff. The winner of this game will advance to play American Heritage in the Class 3A finals at 8:05 p.m. Friday.
