+ Fee moratorium will help
Dear Editor:
I’m glad to see the city of Palm Coast is looking into an impact fee moratorium. Our economy needs a shot in the arm, and this would certainly help.

As a builder and Realtor, I track the market very closely, and there is a need for new houses in Palm Coast. I am making plans to build a for-sale house in the very near future. If a moratorium is placed on impact fees, I would change my plans to three to five homes in the next few months and hope for 15 to 20 over the next 12 months.

The number of residential permits pulled is growing, which shows that people want new homes and are willing to pay for them rather than upgrading and maintaining an older one.

+ City’s food and wine event had candidates, but little wine
Dear Editor:
We went to the International Food & Wine Festival expecting to enjoy good food, wine and entertainment. What we experienced was good but expensive food, good entertainment, but no wine. Wine glasses were being sold at the gate, but again, the key ingredient to put in the glass was missing. The only wine was at the Hispanic booth.

Also, we didn’t expect that this would be a political platform for candidates running for local offices. We wish they would have had an area set aside just for them.
