+ Repeat code violators should receive stiff fines
Dear Editor:
Palm Coast spends a lot of money and effort to beautify our city. We have a small staff to enforce codes to keep our neighborhoods presentable.

But there’s always that one person who feels he or she is above the codes. I’m fortunate enough to have one of those near me. After speaking with a code enforcement officer, I was told this person has more than 22 warnings. I find it absurd that no further action has been taken.

There should be some law in place that after so many warnings, the violator should have to appear in front of a board and given a stiff fine. If there is such a law in place, I’m not aware of it and I’m sure this mess would not continue. It’s a shame that thoughtless people like this have to ruin the appearance of the neighbors’ homes around them.

Either we have codes or we don’t! I understand these officers can’t be everywhere, but let’s clean up the real problems!
