Law enforcement investigating shooting on White Star Drive in Palm Coast

The victim was found inside a vehicle.

There was a shooting on White Star Drive in Palm Coast early on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 16, according to a news release by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the location around 1:30 a.m. and found an adult with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital with the assistance of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office's emergency helicopter.

Law enforcement are on-scene conducting an investigation.

"While we are still collecting the details of what occurred, we do believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public," Sheriff Rick Staly said in a release.

A portion of White Star Drive will be temporarily closed while the investigation is ongoing. The Flagler
County Bus Garage has been notified of the road closure in order to re-route school buses for Tuesday
morning.

Additional details will be released as the investigation advances.
