PALM COAST — The Flagler Palm Coast Lady Bulldogs soccer team is good at winning games and scoring goals.

The players are also good at baking cookies, brownies and cupcakes. Several Palm Coast firefighters benefited from the Lady Bulldogs’ baking skills on Thursday.

The Lady Bulldogs cooked two large cakes, about 80 cupcakes, 100 cookies and “a ton” of brownies.

Cat Bradley, assistant coach of the Lady Bulldogs, said it wasn’t something they had to do; it was something the team wanted to do.

“These men and women risk their lives every day for us and work ridiculous hours,” Bradley said. “So, what’s a few hours out of our day for them?”

Bradley said that when the group of girls delivered the baked goods to the fire station, the firefighters were very thankful and appreciative.

The soccer team also got to try on some of the equipment and check out the fire trucks.

Bradley said the team also went to the Division of Forestry’s headquarters and delivered more goodies.

Head coach Pete Hald made a guest appearance during the baking session.

“It was one of the best feelings ever, and I’m more than glad we did it,” Bradley said.
