PORT ORANGE — Flagler Palm Coast and Matanzas competed March 8, in the seventh-annual Spruce Creek Invitational track-and-field meet.
Here are some of the top performers ...
15.65 seconds — time it took Devonne Friday to run the girls 100-meter hurdles. Friday finished in first place by about .4 seconds. Josie Davis finished in fifth place, at 16.67 seconds.
Three — number of relays Flagler Palm Coast teams won. Both the girls and the boys 4x100-meter relays took first place, as well as the boys 4x400-meter relay.
12 feet, 6 inches — height two Flagler Palm Coast pole vaulters reached, sweeping first and second place. Tim Patrick took first, and Andrew Bertrand finished second.
13.54 seconds — time it took Matanzas Paige Jennings to run the girls 100-meter dash. Jennings finished fifth. Bre Armster, also of Matanzas, finished sixth (13.55 seconds).
30 feet, 5 inches — distance Alantra McFadden, of Flagler Palm Coast, tossed the shot put. McFadden finished in third place, less than two feet behind the first-place finisher.
41 feet, 5 inches — Ra Blanding’s (Flagler Palm Coast) distance in the triple jump, which was good enough for a fourth-place finish. Jon Guilbe, of Matanzas, finished eighth (37 feet, 4 inches).
1 minute, 3 seconds — time it took Flagler Palm Coast’s Latasha Christian to run the 400 meters. She finished third.
18.26 seconds — time it took Matanzas’ Marcaus Cooper to run the 110-meter hurdles. He finished sixth. Flagler Palm Coast’s Slade Cavallaro (17.90 seconds) finished fifth, and Matanzas’ Will Wallenberg (18.32 seconds) took seventh.
Fourth — place Flagler Palm Coast’s Sarah DiLoreto finished in the 200 meters, crossing in 27.74 seconds. Ladeijah Williams (27.98 seconds) and Tierra Williams (28.01 seconds), both of FPC, finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Matanzas’ Bre Armster (28.80 seconds) finished eighth.
23 seconds — time it took Marcel Williams, of Flagler Palm Coast, to finish the 200 meters, placing second. Williams took first in the 400 meters, crossing in 50.70 seconds. Jimmie Robinson, also of FPC, took third (23.17 seconds) in the 200 meters.
