Johnson, White lead Pirates hoops to victory

The Matanzas Pirates rallied in the third quarter Saturday night to defeat Interlachen, 63-57, in the Kiwanis Thanksgiving Shootout, at Matanzas.

The Pirates got off to a slow start, but up-tempo defense and a strong inside game by senior Shawn White carried the Pirates.

White finished the game with 26 points, five rebounds, one steal and one assist. Chris Johnson added 17 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists.

The Pirates (2-1) play 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at home against Pedro Menendez.
