In the inaugural season, the Indian Trails Mustangs soccer team finished in third place in the St. Johns County Middle School Athletic Association.

Nine teams competed in the league.

The Mustangs (7-2) outscored their opponents, 63-9. Pat Gould, coach of the Mustangs who helped begin the program, hopes to bring middle school soccer to Indian Trails and Buddy Taylor next school year. Gould hopes boys teams can develop, too.

Gould said the Mustangs lacked depth for most of the season, but he hopes that changes next season.

“The girls showed tremendous heart and determination,” Gould said of this year's team.
