Imagine School supports staff with 21-Day Self-Care Challenge

Teaching during a global pandemic has given educators new obstacles to overcome as they find the best ways to educate their students both online and in the classrooms. At Imagine School Town Center, the administration saw that students in both platforms were happy and excited and wanted to take care of their staff and ensure they were caring for themselves and taking time to relax, according to LaToya Taite-Headspeth, registrar at the school.

The initiative they came up with — the 21 Day Self-Care Challenge — was to simply remind their staff to take a moment each day and do something for themselves. Each day teachers and staff members chose an activity, completed it, and put it into a basket. The challenges ranged from 30 minutes of exercise to letting yourself cry.

The names of staff members who completed all 21 days were entered into a drawing. The administration asked for donations so they could give out prizes, and were overwhelmed with the generosity of their community. They were able to create two gift baskets for the first-place winners and give two teachers gift cards for second place.
