In honor of the release of the third book in her series, “Ghost Tears,” Flagler author Becky M. Pourchot recruited local talent to create something more than another book signing.

"There are so many authors in town and everyone has a book signing," Pourchot said. "Everyone has a book signing and nobody comes. So I thought I would do something totally radical and totally different."

The Hungry Ghost festival was also a celebration in sorts of the completion of the author's third book.

"I've been working hard on these, so I wanted to have a party, not just me sitting somewhere and signing books," Pourchot said.

The series, which is targeted for mid-grade to young adult readers, tells the story of 15-year-old Gala Rhyce, a reluctant ghost whisperer living in Flagler Beach, and the adventures she encounters.
