Kolton Bucek is much more thankful his father, Kevin, didn’t allow him to play football two years ago. Since that conversation, he’s become an all-star and has made history with Palm Coast Little League.

“He wanted to play football, but I told him he had to get much bigger and stronger,” Kevin Bucek said. “I really wanted him to do something else. So, one day he started watching baseball, and he began to like it.”

According to his father – who became a first-time baseball coach when his son decided to play — Kolton keeps a baseball in his hand and takes lessons as often as he can. Added with the PCLL practice schedule, he has gradually developed in just two seasons.

His progression is twofold,” Kevin said. “He’s done really well. I didn’t expect for him to be an all-star in his second season ever playing, much less in the state tournament.”

Now that Kolton has tasted a little baseball success, he wants to pursue the sport for the rest of his life, leaving all the others behind.

Worth repeating: “I didn’t expect for him to be an all-star in his second season ever playing, much less in the state tournament.”
