Residents at Abundant Life Ministries Hope House waited anxiously Thursday, Nov. 18, for the chance to take their pick of St. Louis Rams receiver Marshawn Gilyard’s new and gently used clothes.

Having already scoped out their favorites, at the count of three the residents rushed the clotheslines.

The giveaway was the first major donation made by the Gilyard Group Foundation, a charity Gilyard started earlier this year.

“Mardy wanted to make sure you had something he had,” Otis Gilyard, Mardy’s older brother, told the boys. “He also wanted to make sure you had something new and something that if you look at you will remember him.”

The foundation is looking for volunteers to help expand. Volunteers must be 21 or older. To help, call 569-9485.
