The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce will host the seventh-annual Run for Your Life walk/run 5K/10K at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 22, in Town Center’s Central Park.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers, the top male and female master runners and the top three finishers in each age group. Kids are also welcome (ages 9 and under are free). There will be a complimentary quarter-mile fun run beginning at 9 a.m.

For students ages 10 to 17, cost for the 5K is $10 and $15 for the 10K.

All runners and walkers begin from the same starting line, and 10K runners are directed to the second leg of their course before approaching the 5K finish line.

Register online HERE, or pick up a form at the Flagler County Chamber (20 Airport Road, Suite C).

Preregistration, which ends March 19, is $25 per person for the 5K and $30 for the 10K.

Race-day registration begins at 6:45 a.m. and ends one hour later. Cost is $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K.

Runners may pick up packets before the race, or the day before (Friday, March 21) between 1-5 p.m., at the chamber.

Snacks will be provided for runners/walkers after the event. Participants should enter Central Park through the Bulldog Drive entrance off State Road 100, next to Flagler Palm Coast High School.

Matanzas to host coed softball tourney

Spring is here, so it’s obviously time to grab your glove and lace up the cleats. Might want to stretch those muscles, too.

The Matanzas High School softball program will be holding a fundraising tournament Saturday, March 1. (A makeup date has been set for March 2.)

Games for the slow-pitch, double-elimination tournament will begin in the morning. Cost is $150 per team, and the tournament fee can be paid in either cash or check. (Checks should be made out to “SHE WHO HAS THE WILL TO WIN INC.”)

First- and second-place teams will receive a trophy.

Call 503-5023.
