The attendees at the fourth-annual Josh Crews Writing Project fundraiser channeled the characters from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby,” for the event, which was held Satruday, Oct. 25, at NatureScapes Gardens.

This year marked a milestone for the project, crossing the threshold of $50,000 raised and donated back to Flagler County education. To date, the writing project has published two anthologies of writing and is now in its third year of operation under the leadership of Belle Terre Elementary School teacher Abbey Cook. A website is in the works to help promote the creativity of the students, and plans to expand into higher grades and also being discussed.

Organizers of the Gatsby event include Carla Cline, Joe Rizzo, Teresa Rizzo, Cindy Dalecki, Maggie Hackett and Keelyn Eickert.
