Free back-to-school shots offered

The Flagler County Health Department and Flagler County Schools have teamed up to offer a free back-to-school shot clinic 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Flagler County Health Department,  301 S. Carter St., Bunnell (formerly Lemon Street, Bunnell). 

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can be made by calling Claudia Gearst, at 437-7350, Ext. 2261.

Required Immunizations are as follows:

              Kindergarten through 12th grade

  • Four to five doses of diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussus (DTaP) vaccine
  • Three to four doeses of (IPV) polio vaccine
  • Two doses of measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine
  • Two to three doses of hepatitis B (HBV) vaccine
  • Two doses of chickenpox – varicella (VZV) vaccine — kindergarten though third grade
  • One dose of chickenpox – varicella (VZV) vaccine—fourth through 12th grade

    Additional immunization required for seventh-grade entry:
  • One (Tdap) dephtheria, tetanus, and pertussus (DTaP) vaccine

    Other immunizations:
  • Hepatitis A
  • Second of chickenpox – varicella (VZV) vaccine—fourth through 12th grade
  • Meningitis vaccine
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
